Conversely, U.S. imports of goods from Sudan have shown a more pronounced increase. In 2022, the total value of goods imported from Sudan reached $37 million, a significant jump of 101.3 percent or $19 million from 2021.

This upward surge in imports also represents a remarkable 473 percent increase from 2012, highlighting the growing interest of American consumers and businesses in Sudanese products.

The United States' trade relationship with Sudan has experienced notable changes in recent years, particularly in the area of goods exports. In 2022, the value of U.S. goods exported to Sudan amounted to $143 million, marking a slight decline of 6.8 percent or $10 million from the previous year.

The rise in imports and the resilience of exports, despite a minor dip, suggest that the trade relationship between the United States and Sudan is on an upward trajectory. This positive momentum can be attributed to various factors, including improved political and economic conditions in Sudan and increased efforts by both countries to foster closer economic ties.
