Does HGH make you taller?

I'm curious, does Human Growth Hormone, or HGH, actually make an adult taller? I've heard mixed opinions on the subject, with some claiming it can promote bone growth and increase height, while others say its effects are limited to children and adolescents whose growth plates have not yet fused. Can you shed some light on this topic and explain how HGH works, if at all, in relation to height gain in adults?
