Can I get into UX without a degree?

I've always been fascinated by user experience design and have a keen eye for detail when it comes to digital interfaces. However, I don't have a formal degree in UX or design. Is it still possible for me to pursue a career in UX? Are there any specific skills or portfolios I should focus on building to demonstrate my aptitude and potential in this field? And what are the potential challenges or limitations I may face without a degree?
