Is real vanilla worth it?

I'm considering buying real vanilla, but I'm not sure if it's worth the price. I've heard it has a more intense flavor compared to artificial vanilla, but I'm not sure if the difference is really noticeable. Should I splurge on real vanilla or save my money?
